Skinhead Stories: Research on Violent Fascists, 1988-2026 (live webinar)

$50.00

In November 1988, racist skinheads murdered an Ethiopian immigrant in Portland, Oregon. Three thousand miles away, in Orlando, Florida, Randall Blazak was embedded with a group of skinheads, studying the rise of this new hate group, a research project that would take him into the Neo-Nazi underground, from San Francisco to Slovakia.

What can the motivations of teenage racist skinheads in the 1980s tell us about the political moment America finds itself in in 2026?
Dr. Blazak will share stories from his research on the skinhead subculture in the 1980s and 1990s and connect his findings to the rise of Donald Trump and the MAGA movement. The two-hour webinar will also address the challenges of doing field research on dangerous populations as well as how to help people leave right-wing movements like MAGA.
